Services to exporters to Russia / CIS

Depending on the nature of the goods you are planning to ship to Russia or to another CIS country, you may need to comply with one or more certification requirements. There are 19 mandatory certification systems regulated by Laws of the Russian Federation (“GOST R”, “Elektrosvyaz”, “Fire Safety” etc) and over 300 voluntary ones.

Today, GOST R Certificate of Conformity is the most common permissive document in Russia testifying that your product meets necessary safety standards. In 1993, SGS was accredited by Gosstandart of Russia (former name for the Federal Agency on the Technical Regulation and Metrology) to provide GOST R certification services.

Moreover, apart from issuing GOST R Certificates of Conformity, we also assist exporters in obtaining other approvals necessary to sell or to exploit their products in the Russian territory such as:

• Sanitary-Epidemiological Conclusion Certificate (formerly known as Hygienic Certificate) for products in contact with human body;
• GOST R Declaration of Conformity for some consumer goods and industrial instrumentation;
• Certificate of State Product Registration for new foodstuff and some other goods presenting a potential danger for human beings;
• Pattern Approval Certificate for measuring instruments;
• Ex-Proof Certificate for explosion-proof equipment and materials;
• Fire Safety Certificate for flammable or fire extinguishing products;
• RTN (ex GGTN) Permit to Use for hazardous industrial equipment;
• Telecom Type Approval for telecommunication equipment and devices;

In Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and other CIS countries there are national certification systems that are mandatory to comply with. SGS has been assisting exporters to obtain relevant certificates in those countries a fast and economical way, in particular:

• UkrSEPRO Certificate of Conformity for the Ukrainian market;
• GOST K Certificate of Conformity for the Kazakhstan market;
• RB Certificate of Conformity for the Belarus market;
  etc.
